2007: International VR Photography Conference in Berkeley

The first official IVRPA contest is organized to coincide with the International VR Photography Conference in Berkeley.

The IVRPA would like to recognize and reward its members for work well done, and provide a showcase of some of the best work in photographic VR. We urge our members to excel, be creative and imaginative, and challenge them to create photographic works which are as good as they possibly can be.

Dates and General Information

The last day for submission to the Contest is Thursday May 31, 2007. Entries are closed June 1, 2007. All dates and times are -0800 GMT.

Current members of the IVRPA can enter up to four (4) images in the contest at no cost. For as little as US$25, non-IVRPA members may throw their hat into the ring -- and gain the benefits of entry level membership in the IVRPA to boot!

Contest Judges and their immediate families are not eligible for entry in to the contest; Members of the IVRPA Board of Directors and their immediate families are not eligible for entry in to the Contest, except for the People's Choice awards.

Judging and Awards

Entries will be made anonymous, and will be judged by a panel of respected members of the VR community and by photography professionals in related fields. Contest winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held during the official banquet at the International VR Photography Conference in Berkeley.

Confirmed judges: Scott Highton (vrphotography.com); Ken Turkowski (realitypixels.com); Jeffery Cross (Travel photo editor, Sunset Magazine, sunset.com); Kay Christy (conceptgirl.com).

There will be prizes for First Place for each category, and Honorable Mentions. There will also be Best of Show prizes & a People's Choice award in the Print category, and a special prize for Innovation in the Interactive category.

Various awards will include a Nodal Ninja pan head, licenses for SPi-V, licenses for PTGui and/or PTGui Pro, an iPod Nano and others to be announced.

Printing of winning entries will be provided by Pictopia, and will be displayed during the conference.
